According to recent reports, President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government has suffered a significant setback as a result of the most recent High Court judgments.

As previously reported, the administration was struck a setback when the Employment Court delayed hundreds of promotions at the Attorney General’s office.

As previously reported, the promotions that occurred on November 26th have been nullified due to gender balance, hurting the operation of the AG office, which is a crucial agency in the government.

“EMPLOYMENT COURT suspends hundreds of promotions made at the Attorney-General’s office on Nov 26 over claims the posts were not filled competitively and lack ethnic, gender balance” , a report states.

This comes after a petition was filed in protest of the decision, claiming that positions were not filled competitively.

Furthermore, the government has suffered a significant defeat after the High Court blocked Ruto’s mandate to 36 organizations regarding the implementation of citizen payments.

Raila Odinga, the former prime minister, is slated to participate in a televised discussion for the position of African Union commissioner this week.

It should be underlined that Mr Odinga is trying to succeed Moussa Faki as AU chairperson, a position supported by President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration.
