President of the editors guild in Kenya Zubeiba Kananu Koome was yesterday moved with emotions during the send off ceremony of the celebrated journalist Rita Tinina of the standard media group.
Zubeiba who was unable to control his tears said that it was a big tragedy losing such a young sould who had a very bright future in the media industry.
She revealed that they had been good friends with Tinina and few days to her death they were on an assignment to Eldoret with her.
Zubeiba amazingly revealed that even the Maasai shuka she had a downed had bought it together with Rita during their last assignment.
Rita was buried in an emotional send off in her home and in an event that was attended by politicians, journalist and Kenyans across the country.
The vocal journalist was found dead in her home in Nairobi on 17th March this year.
According to the government pathologist Peter Ndegwa, the autopsy revealed that Rita died on severe pneumonia.
