Veteran gospel singer Emmy Kosgei has caused a stir after revealing details about the private lives of some Nairobi pastors.
Speaking in a recent video, she shared a conversation she had with an air hostess who disclosed the nightlife habits of several clergymen.
Kosgei explained that she was on a Kenya Airways flight when the hostess confided in her. “Do you know how many of our staff hang out with Nairobi pastors in clubs? In exclusive spots, drinking and enjoying themselves. Then on Sunday, they preach about the Lord as if nothing happened,” she recounted.
The singer cautioned her audience against judging others. She pointed out that even those quick to criticize may have private struggles of their own. “The fact that God has not judged you does not make you righteous. His grace covers us all,” she said.
Her revelation comes amid widespread social media discussions, with many users expressing shock and skepticism. Some shared personal stories, including cases of clergy secretly married or living double lives.
Others sympathized with Kosgei’s caution against judgment, noting that even she is married to a Nigerian preacher, Apostle Anselm Madubuko, who previously admitted to being a Freemason before his spiritual transformation.
Madubuko’s past included joining a campus cult and seeking protection from what he believed was a family curse.
His life changed after encountering a young man preaching about Jesus, prompting him to leave the fraternity and embrace Christianity fully.
His journey, though initially creating tension with his father, ended in reconciliation after his family witnessed his transformation.
Emmy Kosgei’s disclosure sheds light on the hidden struggles of some religious leaders and challenges the public to approach such matters with caution and empathy.
Her message emphasizes that appearances can be deceiving and that faith and human flaws often coexist.
By speaking out, Kosgei urges both Christians and non-Christians to reflect on judgment, grace, and understanding in their daily lives.
