Kenyan-born comedian Elsa Majimbo says that she does not conform to requirements from the system.
According to Esther, she was confident that her career that sprout when she was 19-years-old would take her to great heights.
She made a decision to drop out of college just after her comedy video hit 100,000 views.
“I tried to live my life like a white person, I walk around with no fear and the assumption that anything is possible. People think that I dropped out of college when I hit my first 100,000 followers. I actually dropped out when I got my first 100,000 views on a video,” she said.
Elsa explained that she was confident with herself and knew she would succeed.
She recalls a lecturer warning her about the path she had chosen.
“I did not like school…for me, I was like I need to make this work. I remember one of my lecturers who didn’t like me emailed me and she said ‘hey Elsa, I know that you are really popular right now but these things don’t last. I think that you should stay in school and focus on your studies.’ I gave a very simple reply, ‘thank you for your concern, but I am a star’.”
At 20 years, Elsa Majimbo’s name is on the wall of fame in South Africa and America
