In a recent interview with Citizen TV, Ekuru Aukot, leader of the Third Away Alliance party, made startling claims regarding the Azimio Coalition, asserting that it is now an integral part of the government.

Aukot alleges that the coalition, led by Raila Odinga, was purchased last year, with President William Ruto purportedly providing a substantial sum of Sh56 Billion to support the government.

Aukot did not mince words when he declared, “We have a very compromised opposition. These people are in government. Azimio was bought a long time ago.” This revelation raises questions about the political landscape and the dynamics between key players in Kenyan politics.

Even the much-touted bipartisan Bomas talks, aimed at fostering collaboration between Azimio and Kenya Kwanza, were dismissed by Aukot as mere theatrics.

According to him, these talks were orchestrated to manage political bases rather than to genuinely address national issues.

Aukot contends that the outcomes of the Bomas talks were deliberately manipulated, presenting a facade of cooperation between the two factions.

“The idea was for Azimio and Kenya Kwanza to be able to work together; they have to present the nation with something that looks plausible. That is why even the outcome of the Bomas talks was bogus,” Aukot asserted during the interview.

Moreover, Aukot suggested that the Bomas talks resulted in a fracture within the Azimio Coalition. The implications of these allegations are significant, as they cast a shadow over the authenticity of political alliances and raise concerns about the transparency of political processes in the country.

As these claims reverberate through the political landscape, it remains to be seen how they will impact public perception and the future trajectory of Kenyan politics.

The allegations made by Ekuru Aukot shed light on the complex interplay of power dynamics within the country, leaving citizens to navigate through a landscape fraught with uncertainty.
