Edna Awuor, the woman who claims to have sired a child with the late marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum has continued to shed light into their affair.
In an interview with Eldoret based blogger Awuor has claimed that Kiptum’s wife Asenath was aware that the late husband had an affair outside their union.
However, Edna has sensationally claimed that when Kiptum’s wives first discovered about the affair, she ranted.
“At first when she found out that I was with Kelvin, she was insolent towards me. But she later accepted and stopped insulting me,” Edna claimed.
She added that Kiptum used to treat her well and that someone Asenath would sometimes call her inquiring about Kiptum’s whereabouts.
Edna claims her relationship with Kiptum was blessed with a child aged 7 now.
Even so, she added that by the time the marathoner died, they were just boyfriend and girlfriend to one another as they did not have immediate plans to get married officially.
“After our baby was born, Kiptum told me himself that I should first stay home and take care of our child and promised to take me to school later,” she said.
Pointing out, “He kept providing for the child since I gave birth until the time when he passed away,”
Kiptum died on February 11 in a tragic road accident that also ended the life of his coach while they were driving on Eldoret-Kaptagat road around 11pm at night.
