Self-proclaimed president of comedy in Africa, Eric Omondi, has declared himself the most prominent comedian so far.
In a recent interview with 10/10, Eric told people who are referring to him as a clout chaser that it is a part of the entertainment industry and that it shouldn’t be overlooked by any creative.
“I want to demystify and to inform those judging me and to inform them that the entertainment industry is Kiki- is part of entertainment,” he said adding that art is not about music or comedy.
“I don’t do clout chasing. The work of a comedian is to push the envelope, to cross the line. We are allowed since we are the mirror of society.”
Eric further added that entertainment is like the ocean;
“It is wide and deep and it takes every form. What most people refer to as clout is actually entertainment in its purest form. I really laugh when I continually hear people calling me a clout chaser. Aren’t you entertained anyway?” read part of the caption.
He added that he is the most talked-about celebrity with Tanzanian singer Diamond.
“I want to inform the entertainment industry that the most talked-about artists in East Africa are Diamond Platnumz and Eric Omondi,” he said.
