Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Professor Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday addressed the nation on the situation of security across the country and the milestone that his ministry has achieved since stepping into office.
While briefing the nation, Professor Kithure Kindiki revealed that the government is in the process of arresting individuals who invaded the private land of former President Uhuru Kenyatta during the Azimio la Umoja mass action months ago.
CS Kindiki revealed that the government launched an investigation into the matter but arresting individuals who were linked to invading the Northlands City farm was delayed due to politics. Kindiki said that issue was marred by politics which is why suspects have not been arrested.
He stated that very soon they will arrest the perpetrator and bring them to book. He further stated that the invasion was a serious matter and the government does not take the matter lightly.
“Very soon we will start arresting those who took part in the matter. We shall arraign them in court” CS Kithure Kindiki said.
This comes after retired President Uhuru Kenyatta hit out at individuals who invaded his family land during the Jubilee NDC. Uhuru said the matter was designed to intimidate him into leaving politics.
