The family of slain activist Richard Otieno, popularly known as ‘Molo President,’ is set to lay him to rest on Friday, February 7, as detectives intensify investigations into his murder.

Fresh details have emerged linking a powerful politician to the brutal killing, raising concerns over the motive behind the attack.

Authorities have confirmed that they are analysing communication records to establish key connections in the case.

Investigators are also examining threats Otieno allegedly received before his death, which could help unmask those behind the crime.

Otieno, a vocal youth leader and government critic, was murdered on January 18, just meters from the Elburgon police station.

His killing has sparked outrage, with leaders and residents demanding justice.

Calls for accountability intensified during his memorial service at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Elburgon, where local leaders urged law enforcement to ensure that those responsible, including the masterminds, are brought to book.

Detectives have so far questioned seven individuals, including some of Otieno’s family members, as part of their probe.

Five suspects are already in custody, but investigators hint at more arrests in the coming days.

Otieno’s final journey will take place in Siaya County, where he will be buried at his parents’ home.

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on authorities to expedite the investigation and ensure that the perpetrators, regardless of their status, face justice.
