Daddy Owen is a popular gospel musician in Kenya who has grown the music industry and taken it to higher heights.
During an interview with The Star, he got to talk about gospel singers not remarrying if they divorce their spouses and also stories that revolve around ladies not wanting not to work because of the sponsor mentality.

“If a gospel singer’s spouse dies, one can remarry because it was not their decision for that to happen but when one divorces, that one should never marry because it was their decision like the case Gloria Muliro, she should never. You should stay like that till you die.”

The Tazama singer also revealed that his wife’s tribe did not bother him.
“I didn’t know that I was dating a Kikuyu. I came to realize that when the strings were already strong and plus tribe is not a big deal. Besides those are things that I don’t follow.”

He also shed some light on stories doing rounds on social media that women these days don’t want to work and only wait for sponsors to provide which is leading to a rotten generation.
“Women now are working and it is a bad notion that some ladies don’t want to work and only want to have sponsors. But I will shock you by telling you that I work with a research company, whereby it states that so many ladies are working. In fact this is correct, because like when I came to your office for the interview, I just so chics.
For now, there are products which are segmented on ladies alone. Like the Uniliver. It is very scary for a boy child. Majority are working and most times when you go to different companies there are more ladies than men. We did that project because we are working on a product for the girl child.”
The singer concluded by saying that women are becoming powerful.

“They now have power. They are controlling supermarkets, boutiques and are even good at the betting games. It is just a number of girls who don’t work. That is why there is increase of baby mamas because they are independent and men are just lazy and cannot provide for their houses. Even in school, they are becoming sharp and excellent.”
