Cyrus Jirongo’s family has said who drove him to Naivasha, and this has people talking and asking questions about what happened on his last trip.
Someone close to Jirongo, Mr. Khaniri, said that Jirongo couldn’t drive himself the day he went to Naivasha. He knew Jirongo well and was sure he wouldn’t have been driving in the condition he was in. This makes the family’s statement that someone else was driving the Mercedes Benz more believable.
Mr. Khaniri also doesn’t quite believe the official story about the accident. Reports said Jirongo crashed head-on into a bus going to Busia but he wondered why no one from the bus has come forward.
He said that in accidents like that, especially when famous people are involved, people usually talk about it, but no one has in this case.
He also had doubts about the Mercedes Benz’s condition after the crash. Mr. Khaniri wondered if the damage on the car looked like it was from a bad head-on crash with a bus. He thinks what we’re seeing doesn’t quite match what we’ve been told.
Because of these comments, more people are asking for a clear and open explanation. People and politicians want the police to sort out the inconsistencies and give a clear account of what happened.
The family still believes the truth will come out and hopes all the unanswered questions about Jirongo’s last hours will be answered.
This story is still getting attention because of the question of who drove him to Naivasha.
