All Cabinet Secretaries and their Principal Secretaries converged at State House on Tuesday for a ministerial performance contract signing event.
Different ministries and offices were given contracts entailing targets they would need to achieve during their tenure.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who doubles as the CS for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, signed three performance contracts given his role as acting CS for Interior and Genders, Culture, Arts & Heritage ministries.

The CS position at the Interior Ministry fell vacant after Kithure Kindiki was appointed as the Deputy President following Rigath iGachagua’s impeachment.

Stella Lang’at, a career administrator, had been nominated by the president to be the Gender, Culture, The Arts and Heritage Cabinet Secretary but her performance during the oral interviews before the committee during her vetting, denied her an appointment, rendering the position vacant.

Presiding over the ceremony, President William Ruto urged CSs to remain vigilant and steadfast in delivering on their mandates and providing better services to Kenyans.

“I look forward to working with the ministers and the PSs in making sure that we deliver on the commitments and the mandates that have been signed here,” said Ruto.

“I promise you we will confound the naysayers we will succeed. This great nation that God has given us will succeed. The enemies of Kenya will be put to shame.”
