Kiambu residents who attended the burial of Bishop Allan Kiuna of JCC in Thindigua, Kiambu County went wild as Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua recognised the presence of Mumias East member of parliament Peter Salasya.
The second in command invited Mr Salasya to wave to the the attendees after he joined other leaders from Kiambu county and the great Mt Kenya region to send off Bishop Kiuna who is laid to rest today.
Gachagua introduced Salasya as a young parliamentarian who is known for engaging with Kenyan on social media platforms, particularly Tiktok.
“We have our very own young parliamentarian from Mumias, you will see him there on Tiktok. He is Peter Salasya.” Gachagua said before the crowd cheered the first time lawmaker who could be seen waving at the crowd.
The burial was also attended by nominated senator Veronica Maina, former Murang’a county women representative Sabina Chege, Kiambu county women representative Ann Wamuratha and Starehe member of parliament Amos.
Of all these leaders, Salasya stole the show after being received warmly by the residents compared to other leaders from the region.
