The High Court has today broken silence with a powerful directive targeting all public servants serving in the coveted Athletics Kenya Committee.
In a landmark ruling delivered today the 7th day of March 2024, the High Court has ordered public servants serving in the eminent Athletics Kenya Committee led by President of Athletics Kenya Jackson Tuwei to vacate office with immediate effect.
Giving a glimpse of the fundamental reason behind the strategic directive on immediate vacation from office by the aforementioned cohort of public servants, the High Court intimated that the landmark order was informed by the mere fact that the officials had overstayed in their respective offices.
In addition, the High Court has ordered Athletics Kenya to conduct fresh elections in a strategic move fostered towards filling in the positions which will be left vacant following the immediate vacation from office of the current occupants of the vast Athletics Kenya Committee.
The High Court underscored that it was of pivotal importance for public institutions to follow to the letter the constitutional guidelines regarding timelines within which public servants are required to serve in their respective leadership positions.
