Renowned Kenyan comedian Churchill has unveiled a new lineup of artists for his much-awaited New Year’s Eve concert following public demand.

This comes after the celebrated gospel artist Christina Shusho trended on X (formerly Twitter) for her song Shusha Nyavu.

Churchill later announced a new year’s event with comedians and Christina Shusho on the performance lineup.

However, Kenyans refuted the comedy aspect through social media saying there was nothing to laugh about, adding that all they wanted to do was scream their hearts out as they welcomed the new year.

Churchill has bowed to public demand and his new lineup has no comedians. Instead, Kenyan gospel singers like Solomon Mkubwa and Mercy Masika will perform along with Shusho in the Churchill Show Crossover.

Churchill with host the event alongside DJ E. Advance tickets go at Ksh 2,000, VIP Ksh 5,000, and VVIP Ksh 10,000.

To get a ticket for the event, one needs to dial 82641#.

The concert will start at 4 pm on December 31 until late. It will also be live-streamed at ChurchillTV.africa.

Shusha Nyavu rising popularity

Following Shusho’s trending on X, her song Shusha Nyavu has been used in various videos on social media, including scenes at the club.

The artiste also announced a Shusha Nyavu dancing challenge that will see the best dancers awarded.

In a TikTok video, Shusho was seen holding US dollars in her hands joking that the money has to be won and if no one makes an effort, then she will gladly keep the cash.

The Tanzanian singer is known for her gospel hits that have attracted a huge audience in Kenya. Some of her hit songs include Relax, Teta Nao, Napenda, and Shusha Nyavu.

She has also collaborated with various singers including Ringtone and Geraldine Oduor of Kenya and Rose Muhando and Zabron Singers from Tanzania.
