Celebrated Kenyan comedian Mannerson Oduor Ochieng popularly known as Akuku danger is grateful to be alive.

This is because unbeknownst to many of his fans, he was hospitalized for the past several weeks because of the sickle cell anaemia, but he is pleased to be out of the hospital right now and back on his feet.

The ‘Churchill Show’ comedian shared the news via his latest post on his Instagram account, where he even posted a short video clip that was taken during that time that he was at the hospital.

Akuku Danger then accompanied the video with a caption saying:

“These Past Few Weeks God Has really Come Through For Me.

Sickle Cell Is A Monster Man 😓. One Minute You going About Your Business And Working Hard To Chase This Bag And The Next Minute You Are Fighting For Your Life In The Hospital.

Am Posting This Not for sympathy or anything but for all the sickle cell warriors out there who are looking for inspiration and Yes! YOU ARE ALL STRONGER THAN YOU THINK!! ❤️❤️.

We are Back Now!! All Good and out of the hospital. Tuendelee na Kazi” Akuku Danger wrote.

The disclosure however elicited massive reactions from netizens, who wished the funny man a quick recovery as shown in the link below;

Akuku Danger has actually been struggling with the sickle cell disease for awhile now.

The funny man has infact been in and out of the hospital for the past few years, and therefore this was not the first time for him to be hospitalized and thankfully recovering at the end.

It can be remembered that in 2022, Akuku Danger was even hospitalized at the Nairobi West Hospital for awhile and then released, but could not be discharged immediately because of the huge hospital bill that had accrued.

The bill had gotten to a whooping over 800K, which his girlfriend, actress Sandra Dacha and other well-wishers helped to settle.

Akuku Danger is actually a sickle cell carrier. It is a blood disorder that he was born with and it’s passed down through a parent’s genes.

Sickle cell disease causes the red blood cells to be misshapen and break down, causing a shortage of the healthy red blood cells.

This causes breathing problems, extreme tiredness and headaches among other symptoms.
