While speaking in one of the interviews, Jamila noted that she began working as a sales representative, and that journalism was not in her mind.
Jamila journalism career began on day when the person who was supposed to read the news failed to appear. The manager requested her to stand in as a temporary replacement. Jamila gave her all and her star began shining.
In 2018, Citizen Tv poached Jamila from NTV. She joined the giant media house as senior editor and a news anchor.She is currently ranked as one of the best journalists in Kenya.
