Maina Kageni got the opportunity today morning to interview Gospel great Christina Shusho. The host admitted that he was star-struck, telling the Tanzanian that he was one of the biggest fans of the singer, explaining that her music touches him.
Mr. Kageni’s first question for Shusho was about when she had realized that she could sing? She replied that she didn’t know exactly when that was but that she had just found herself singing in church.

The humble singer said that she didn’t even have a clue what she was doing when she first started singing. “So how did she decide she wanted to sing?” Maina asked.
“Unajua Tanzania tulikuwa an choir nyingi. After a certain period of time, I saw artistes like Rose Muhando and others singing and I told myself that I could also try, as I was also singing in church,” she told Maina.
Adding, “In my trying, God was with me.” The first ever single she released was a song called “Kitu Gani”. What went through her mind when she saw that people had liked the song? She was shocked. “I never expected it,” a resplendent Shusho said.
