Nandi county Senator Hon Samson Cherargei has come out to allege that some Non-Governmental Organizations are now sending money to Kenyan youths to protest against the proposed Finance bill that seeks to raise more revenue for the Kenya Kwanza administration.

While speaking on Monday, the vocal legislator claimed that they have discovered that the youths protesting on the streets are being fully funded by some NGO’s. He asked the National Intelligence Service to move with speed and block all the channels that the NGOs wants to utilize to destabilize the government.

“We have discovered that there are some NGO’s which are sending money to his young generation to conduct the protests. I want to ask the National Intelligence Service to close down these channels the NGOs wants to use to destabilize the government” Cherargei said.

This comes after thousands of protesters took to the streets last week to oppose the proposed Finance bill that has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans as well as the International community. Thousands of protesters clashed with police officers, with mass arrests undertaken.

On the other hand, Kenyans have declared their intentions to return to the streets on Tuesday to pile more pressure on the government to withdraw the proposed Finance bill. The protests which are expected to hit the entire country are expected to force the state to reconsider their decision and lower tax burden on Kenyans.

This comes after President William Samoei Ruto praised Kenyans, saying they were peaceful, and he is expected to listen to their demands.
