The Raha Fest, held on New Year’s Eve at Uhuru Gardens, turned into a chaotic disaster, leaving both fans and artists angry. What was expected to be an exciting celebration was quickly overshadowed by disorder.

The event, which featured international stars like Jamaican dancehall artist Shenseea and Tanzanian superstar Alikiba, became chaotic after police used tear gas near the stage. In one video, Shenseea can be seen performing briefly before a security guard rushes her off stage. The situation became even worse when a stampede broke out as people without tickets forced their way into the venue.

As chaos spread, police deployed more tear gas to try to control the crowd, which only made things worse. Fans, already disappointed by the situation, grew even more frustrated. Many had come to see the performances of their favorite artists, but the pandemonium ruined the experience for them.

Shenseea later took to social media to express her frustration. “Now Kenya. Not gonna lie, I’m a bit mad y’all,” she posted, reflecting the disappointment of many of her fans. Alikiba also shared his thoughts humorously, writing on X: “Experienced tear gas for the first time in my life, but the show must go on. #RAHAFEST Hapa ni amani tu.”Despite the star-studded lineup, the chaos at Raha Fest dominated the night. Fans and artists alike were left upset, as the event failed to deliver the New Year’s Eve celebration they had hoped for.
