A police officer attached to Keringet Police Station in Nakuru was arrested following an altercation with his boss and colleagues.According to a police report obtained by a source, the junior officer stormed the station on Saturday evening to enquire about a certain prisoner whom he had taken personally to the Officer Commanding Station’s office. The situation, however, got heated after the colleagues could not agree, leading the altercation to turn into a fistfight between the two.

Moments later, screams were heard from the station, alerting other officers who rushed to the scene.

Per the report, the suspect was found hitting his colleague on the wall while holding him by the collar.

The colleagues managed to separate the two officers and restrained the angry cop.

Thereafter, the OCS rushed to the station to unravel what had happened.

But the suspect insulted his supervisor and threatened to assault him.

After being hurt in the altercation, the cop was sent to Keringet Sub-County Hospital with a gash to his skull. The report states that his status is stable right now.

Conversely, the suspect was arrested and held until disciplinary action could be done. The cop was extremely drunk when he got to the station, according to preliminary investigations.

Investigating whether the officer had broken any of the provisions of Section 64 of the Police Act—which mandates that all officers follow the standing orders and the Code of Regulations during their tenure in the Service—officers attached to the Keringet Station looked into the officer’s behaviour.

If found guilty, the officer shall be liable to disciplinary action as accorded by the National Police Service (NPS).
