On Thursday, the Jubilee Secretary General, Jeremiah Kioni, strongly cautioned politicians organizing events using the name of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

During a press conference discussing the National Dialogue Committee report, Kioni emphasized that the party has 32 constitutionally registered executives with close ties to Uhuru.

He warned those using Uhuru’s name in their meetings that they are not within the former president’s circle and urged them to refrain from associating his name with their gatherings.

“There are people here who are planning to hold meetings in Mt. Kenya. They should stop involving him. Continue with your plans, but do not carry his name in your meeting,” Kioni stated.

Kioni refrained from revealing whether he contacted Njenga to issue a warning or if Jubilee plans to take definitive action against the controversial politician.

Regarding the bipartisan talks report from the National Dialogue Committee, Kioni criticized the recommendations, contending that they overlooked the urgent concerns of Kenyans.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the committee’s exclusion of the cost of living from their considerations and emphasized his discontent with their emphasis on what he deemed minor issues, such as establishing the offices of the Prime Minister and Opposition leader.

Jubilee’s Deputy Organising Secretary, Pauline Njoroge, criticized Maina Njenga a week ago, rejecting his claim that President Uhuru Kenyatta intended to participate in an upcoming Mt Kenya tour on December 31.

Njoroge expressed bewilderment at Njenga’s repeated assertion that Uhuru would attend the event to pass the leadership mantle, stating that it is untrue.

She emphasized that Uhuru Kenyatta will not be present at the event and clarified that he is not in communication with the event planners.

“Despite numerous calls from various quarters to Maina to stop this narrative as it’s not true, he has persisted. This brings us to the question, what is his motive it’s clearly not a genuine one.” She said.

Similar to his boss, Njoroge also suggested that Maina Njenga host his event without bringing Uhuru into it.

Maina Njenga declared in October of this year that prominent figures from Mt Kenya, the business community, the religion, local politicians, and other regions would be present at his event.
