According to reports from blogger Cyprian Nyakundi, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) sleuths have confiscated businessman Simon Kabu’s firearm amidst his ongoing legal troubles.

Kabu, the CEO of Bonfire Adventures, is embroiled in a highly publicized divorce case with his estranged wife, Sarah Mtalii, formerly Sarah Kabu.

The divorce proceedings have taken a tumultuous turn with allegations and counter-allegations between the two parties. Sarah’s legal team, Mwenda Njagi & Co., has submitted multiple requests to the DCI, claiming that Simon Kabu has engaged in behavior that could endanger her and their children.

Among the allegations is a purported threat to kill, which prompted the recent action by the DCI. A letter from Sarah’s lawyers, addressing the authorities, highlighted concerns about Kabu’s alleged criminal acts, emphasizing the potential risk to their children.

“Kabu’s criminal acts persist, and the children of the marriage risk being rendered destitute,” read part of the correspondence. The case, filed under Divorce Cause No. MCDC E086 OF 2024 at the Kiambu Magistrate Court, also involves a separate children’s case.

On Monday, December 9, 2024, Kabu was spotted at the Milimani Law Courts in the company of his lawyers. The video, which has since surfaced online, shows the businessman maintaining a composed demeanor amidst the mounting scrutiny.

Sources indicate that the court proceedings remain under gag orders, barring both parties from publicly commenting on the case’s details.

The confiscation of Kabu’s firearm has raised speculation about the gravity of the allegations against him. It is believed thatthe DCI’s move aims to prevent potential harm as investigations continue.

This development adds to the businessman’s woes, further complicating his legal and personal battles.

Sarah, who has moved out of their matrimonial home, has reportedly sought protection and a thorough investigation into her ex-partner’s conduct.
