Close to a month ago, many parts of the country started experiencing heavy downpour. For instance, Nairobi city, Nakuru, Kisumu among many other places experienced floods which led to destruction of property, and also people lost their life.

After torrential rains on Friday night and into Saturday morning, Mombasa County is completely shut down. According to reports, Mombasa’s Kibarani neighbourhood is completely unreachable due to flooded roadways, thus putting businesses to a standstill.

Due to waterlogged roads, there is significant traffic on the Mombasa- Changamwe highway. Drivers are urged to plan for delays and take alternate routes.

Few days ago, weatherman forecasted that the country may start experiencing El Nino type of rainfall as early as from next month. Those who live in flooding areas such as along river sides, around lake basins, along valleys among many other places, are advised to take an early risk. What can you say about this.
