Residents of Emuramia village in Kisoko-Nambale Sub County were amazed after a pastor retrieved items associated with witchcraft from local families.
Among the equipment found are a buffalo horn, human inner wears and a snake which had been kept in a pot with three holes. The items were allegedly dug out from the river.
Pastor Steven Wanyonyi Orata of a Pentecostal church at Matungu-Kakamega County was called by a family that has been suffering calamities including mysterious sicknesses and death.
Relieved residents welcomed the operation with some lamenting how they have been suffering as a result of increased witchcraft in the village.
The village elder Albert Butoro condemned those still practising witchcraft saying they derailed development.
Butoro advised witches to repent and embrace Christianity.
