Three British Airways (BA) cabin crew have allegedly been shown the door for allegedly imbibing too much alcohol and damaging the property of a four star Hotel in Nairobi.
According to the Daily Mail, the three were summarily fired after they drank themselves silly and damaged the hotel’s lobby while on a stopover in Nairobi.
The daily reported that the management of the four-star hotel raised a complaint with BA over the behaviour of the three and that the disturbance had ‘appalled’ guests at the hotel.
In response, BA, however disputed the claims that its staff had damaged property and that they will take appropriate action.
”There are no reports of any damage to hotel property.
“We will always take appropriate action if a staff member’s behaviour falls below the exceptionally high standards of professionalism we expect
“We expect exceptionally high standards of professionalism from our highly trained crew, and we will always take the appropriate action if a member of staff’s behaviour falls below that standard,” BA was quoted as saying.
An insider in the company however stated that the party held by the staff at the hotel had gotten out of hand.
“Many staff regard overnight stopovers as a party. This was one session that got out of hand,” said the source.
