According to the reports given by the directorate of criminal investigations, it has been reported that A man suspected to be the mastermind behind the spate of robberies that have rocked Juja in Kiambu County and parts of Murang’a County, has been arrested by detectives.
Taking to their different social media platforms to confirm this news, the directorate of criminal investigations has confirmed that the suspect who has been identified as Simon Gitonga, alias ‘The Axe Man’ was arrested following an operation by sleuths from the elite Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau, augmented by a contingent of detectives from Imenti North and Murang’a County.
The 54-year-old man who is a serial offender is said to have been on the run and has a warrant of arrest issued by the Thika law courts, for his arrest.
During his arrest, the directorate of criminal investigations along with the National Police Service have confirmed that a well sharpened machete was recovered from him.
While reacting to this incident, Kenyans who took to their different social media platforms to express their opinion on this topic have congratulated the directorate of criminal investigations along with the National Police Service to arresting the suspect following the incident.
In other news, Nancy Kigunzu alias Mathee Wa Ngara who was arrested by Police officers in Nairobi’s CBD after being declared wanted by the National Police Service has been denied bond by court who claimed that the suspect is at a flight risk.
This is happening at the same time when it has been reported that Teresa Wanjiru who had been arrested by Police officers in Ngara has been released by the court, Family threatened to sue the DCI.
