Eyewitnesses reported that the officer had been drinking heavily throughout the festive season and was driving erratically moments before the crash.

The vehicle veered off the road, ploughing into the hotel’s entrance, damaging furniture and property, and causing panic among those inside.

Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported among hotel guests, though some sustained minor bruises while rushing to safety.

Hotel management expressed dismay over the damages caused to their establishment, estimating significant losses due to the destruction of furniture and disruption of operations during the busy holiday period.

Authorities quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The officer was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody.

A preliminary investigation revealed that he had exceeded the legal alcohol limit, making him unfit to operate a vehicle.
