A 24-year-old woman known for being active in her church was tragically murdered in a Catholic church in Meru. Her lifeless body was discovered in a toilet where it had been discarded. The victim had recently been chosen as the new church secretary and had been occupied with her church duties throughout the week. On the day of her disappearance, she had lunch with her parents before returning to the church. However, she failed to come back promptly prompting her parents to call her but their attempts to reach her were unsuccessful.
Concerned for their daughter’s safety, her parents launched an extensive search and spread the news about her disappearance but all their efforts proved fruitless. Numerous individuals including the church gardener from Vihiga county were questioned during the investigation. When questioned, the gardener indicated that she was safe but the overall circumstances suggested that something was amiss.
Ultimately, the laborer led them to a particular toilet where upon inspection they discovered the victim’s lifeless body. It appears that the perpetrator killed her and disposed of her remains in the toilet in an attempt to cover up the crime.
