One week ago popular Kikuyu gospel musician Muhiko Nebstar died which left people shocked and mourning. He has been battling diabetes and high blood pressure for a long time which overpowered him that day. After his death some people came online criticizing Kikuyu musicians for neglecting one of their own when he was sick.
Some hours ago bishop JJ Gitahi decided to respond to them during Muhiko’s memorial service. He said that those attacking them were born Early 2005 and they know nothing about music industry and where it has come from. He went ahead and said he was not ready to argue with them since they are even younger than his children and their thinking capacity is still wanting.
He gave a brief history of how music industry has evolved from selling cassette to YouTube. He said during the VCD era almost all Kikuyu gospel musician became rich and everything went wrong when YouTube was introduced. He said that when YouTube came they were forced to get out of Simba center where they knew about everyone. From there everyone moved his own direction and nobody knows where their friend went.
He therefore said that was how Kikuyu gospel musicians became broke and nobody had money to help one another and everyone has been fighting for their own survival. He also attacked MCSK officials who were there saying they give them 9,000 per year wondering where they take all the money. He therefore told them to eat all the money and they need nothing from them.
He concluded that they don’t have musicians sacco from where money can be taken from to help one of their own and therefore everyone is out there trying to survive. He attacked those attacking them asking them to show people how many people they have helped before pointing a finger on them.
