In an era when many key entertainment stakeholders including Eric Omondi are calling out stations for not playing enough Kenyan content, Kiss FM stands out as the only station that’s fully behind Kenyan art.
Speaking on The Morning Kiss on Thursday, Sauti Sol’s Bien gave a special shout out to the station for the role they played in making Sauti Sol who they are today.
He said; I feel like it’s about time to beside playing Creme of the crop to start playing other musicians. Lazizi being played on Kiss changed our lives. Now I would love to sit down with the producer and we go and discover new artists.
Bien says he supports his nemesis Eric Omondi’s ‘play 75% of Kenyan music’ drive because he doesn’t want a class 8 pupil who looks up to him or Nviiri to have their dreams quashed now.
Bien and Nviiri were in studio to promote Chimano’s ‘Love and Harmony’ concert set to take place this weekend at The Junction Mall.
The two praised Chimano’s work ethic ahead of the festival saying that he has been dancing for 4-hours in preparation.
“Chimano centered his festival around his experiences.” Bien said. Adding; It’s centered around being yourself, being inclusive, dressing how you want.
Me and Chimano go way back because we are also family. We’ve known each other since we were kids.
Bien reveals this year, Sol Generation are planning an amazing fresh female talent into the family.
