Davido, the Best African Act at the 2017 EMAs, recently dropped a hypnotizing music video. Dubbed “Like Dat”, the music video showcases Davido as a stylish, futuristic creator who has a knuckle for all things luxury.
The main prop in the video is a BMW i8 and the color-changing ceiling, sick moves by a robotic camera all made the video one of a kind.
This video was directed by Nigerian born British director Daps. He is also the one behind Wizkid’s “Come Closer” music video, the “Bad and Boujee” visual by Migos and Patoranking’s “No Kissing Baby”.

The same robotic trick was used by director Dave Meyers for the “Humble” music video, where Kendric is seen staring at a camera which shifts positions really quick, with accuracy that beats that of a human hand.
Director Daps learnt his directing skills on his own, as he started off making his own music videos for his songs. He was later discovered by Director X, who gave him a chance to work on Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora’s “Black Widow” as a second unit director. Since then, he has gone on to make some of the biggest hip hop music videos of the recent years.
