Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Akothee has hit back at critics in a bold and inspiring post on her Facebook page.
Reflecting on her success, Akothee urged her followers to first examine their own journeys before casting judgment on hers.
In a message that resonated with many, she asked, “Where were you in 2013, and how old were you?”
She continued to challenge her audience by asking them where they see themselves in 10 years, encouraging them to be honest and intentional about their life goals.
The mother of five shared that by the age of 32, she had already envisioned her retirement plans and had taken deliberate steps to bring that vision to life.
At the heart of her journey was the construction of her debt-free retirement home in Rongo, Kamagambo—a project she personally supervised.
Akothee emphasized that despite the challenges, she remained focused on her goals, balancing her responsibilities as a mother, her travels, and educating not only her own children but also others, all while building her legacy.
The musician also revealed that after completing her home, her next goal was to build a house for her mother, showcasing her gratitude and love.
“I wasn’t prioritizing dating or distractions,” she wrote.
“I focused on what truly mattered—building a future for my children and creating a legacy.”
Akothee’s post concluded with a forward-looking message, announcing that by the same time next year, she would have earned three new titles, continuing her journey of success.
