Controversial Kenyan musician Bahati has for the first time spoken about his loss in the general elections. The singer was contesting for the Mathare parliamentary seat on a Jubilee ticket but emerged third losing the race. Bahati together with his fans had been hopeful that he will emerge victorious in the race. The disappointment saw bahati take a loenghty break from the public eye and became inactive on his social media pages for approximately a month.

The singer has now spoken out on the loss and how it affected him. In a short social media post that he shared with his fans, Bahati claimed that he has an appetite for taking risks. He noted that the decision to vie for the parliamentary seat was a risk that he took. He did not indicate any regrets of making the decision despite the fact that things did not work according to plan.

“I have always had an apetite for Taking Risks!” a section of the social media post read.

The social media post was met with varied reactions from his fans. Some of the netizens commended the singer citing that he had taken the loss with a lot of positivity. They went ahead to note that he had taken the right step by going back to music.

Bahati recently broke his lengthy silence with a song dubbed ‘Mambo Ya Mhesh’. The song was also motivated by his unsuccessful debut in politics.

Previously, reports had emerged online indicating that the singer was pushed into depression after the loss. Bahati has not clarified on the reports which were made by his fellow artist Ringtone Apoko.
