The CEO of the Communications Authority Ezra Chiloba has suffered a huge blow after he threatened to close media houses that will provide a live coverage to Azimio demonstrations. Ezra Chiloba has remained clear that those media houses that will provide violent coverage of Azimio demos will be closed. The CEO has remained clear that the licence of the media is not a ticket to cover political events that cause tension and chaos.
Ezra Chiloba directives were later challenged in court and the court has made a determination on the matter. It’s shocking that the media has taken sides and it’s trying to help Azimio coalition spearhead a dead case that they won the August 9th polls.
President Ruto has remained clear that though he has issues with the media, non of them will be closed. However, it’s obvious that going by the latest developments, the media risk closure because of misreporting and misrepresentation of facts.
