Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili popularly known as Babu Owino has sent a message to President William Ruto and his government as they get ready to hit the streets come Friday 7th July, in what they have termed as a rebirth resembling what happened 30 years ago on the same date.
In his message to President Ruto, Babu Owino urged the government to allocate a substantial amount of money towards the purchase of tear gas canisters, because it’s a norm for the government to squander funds, in purchase of such tools. Moreover, he emphasized that the demonstrators are fully prepared to confront the police head-on.
Furthermore, Babu Owino revealed that the participants of the forthcoming demonstrations have already taken steps to equip themselves for the anticipated confrontations. He disclosed that they have procured rubber shoes to aid them in engaging in running battles with the police. This strategic move aims to enhance their ability to maneuver quickly and effectively during the demonstrations. Additionally, they have acquired helmets to shield themselves from the effects of tear gas, which may be deployed by law enforcement agencies to disperse the crowds.
