Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has declared his stance on whether he will be joining the government of national unity amid speculations that President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga were on the verge of striking that form of government.
The vocal legislator in a post on his X account has made it clear that his allegiance lies with the people and he has vowed not to support what he has termed as a defunct government regardless of the repercussions that could befall him.
“My decision is to be with the People. I will not support this defunct Government no matter the consequences.ā Babu Owino’s post reads.
Owino who always champions the interests of the youth and the marginalized has been vocal in criticizing President William Ruto’s led government for failing to address issues facing the citizens and it is certain he won’t be supporting the latest move by his party leader Raila Odinga.
His latest move is likely to endear him to his supporters and reinforce his image as a champion to public interests which has seen his stake rise over the years.
