Raila Odinga-led opposition alliance has spoken to people of the media on Tuesday ahead of their three-days-a-week anti-government protests that is set to resume on Wednesday this week.
The team that was lead by Wiper Party leader and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has continued to accuse the government of using the opposition planned protests to plan terror against innocent protesters.
Former Justice Minister Martha Karua who read part of Azimio statement said that President William Ruto was at war not only with the opposition alliance but also with Kenyans who are against his governance.
“Ruto is at war, not only with Azimio but with the entire Kenya population especially those who do not support him.
Karua appealed with Kenyan neighbors who are allegedly supplying President William Ruto with weapons to stop, adding that this is a war between Ruto and Kenyans.
“We appeal to our neighbors in the region not to join Ruto’s war against Kenyans. Our neighbors must not supply Ruto with teargas and ammunition to fight Kenyans.”
She told the neighbors that the crime that the opposition has committed is telling the Head of State to lower cost of living, embrace bi-lateral reconstruction of IEBC and allow for the audit of 2022 elections serves.
“Our crime is that we have only challenged Ruto to bring down the cost of food, reconstitute the IEBC in a way that includes all players also to audit last year’s presidential elections and to respect political parties.
“As leaders we have reached the decision that we shall fear not those who kill the bodies but cannot kill the soul.” She affirmed.
Karua’s message to the neighbors around the region comes hours after the opposition alliance through Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo claimed that Uganda is supplying Ruto with weapons ahead of tomorrow’s demos.
The legal mind in his tweet that has sparked mixed reaction among Kenyans has posted a trailer which he claims has been allowed into the country and handed over to the Kenyan GSU without being scanned at the border.
“Why would Ugandan armed forces escort this trailer, suspected to be ferrying arms, per a whistle blower, and hand over to Kenyan GSU? Why would they refuse scanning & processing? Why claim it was empty yet not? is someone plotting bloodshed? NSIS, DCI, Kazi Kwenyu.” Otiende Amollo tweeted.
