AU opinion poll showing Kenyan candidate Raila Odinga leading in the race for the AUC seat has been flagged down as fake as head of state President William Ruto’s ally who shared it is exposed

Amani Africa, a Pan-African think tank, has called out a Kenyan politician, Kimilili MP and UDA politician Didmus Baraza for circulating a fake poster with their logo, claiming Raila Odinga leads in the AUC chair poll.

This isn’t the first—Pretoria had flagged similar cases, mostly from Kenya.

The opinion now debunked to be fake had put Odinga at 80%, his closest rival, Djiboutian candidate Mahmoud Ali Youssouf at 8% and Madagascar Candidate Richard Randriamandrato at 2% with 10% still undecided.

“This is utterly irresponsible. The use of an organization that never undertook a poll is disinformation, misinformation and maliciously criminal. Amani Africa totally rejects this act and demands the immediate withdrawal of the use of its logo.” Amani Africa said

This is coming at a time when the AUC debate started yesterday where the 3 candidates will have the platform to share their vision for the African continent.
