Kenyans were active on social media after lawyer Willis Evans Otieno posted a powerful message of solidarity for businessman and politician Jimmy Wanjigi.

The tweet generated significant debate, condemning the actions of William Ruto’s regime and urging people to continue the Maandamano protests.

Otieno echoed Wanjigi’s sentiments, highlighting the pain of mothers who have lost their children due to government actions. “For every child you are killing, there is a mother weeping,” he stated, emphasizing the suffering of families. This statement suggests that the anguish of these mothers could one day confront President William Ruto.

“For every child you’re killing, there is a mother crying. The tears of a mother for her child and the curses that arise will come to haunt William Ruto,” Wanjigi expressed.

The widely shared tweet included a photo of Wanjigi, prominently displaying his name in bold letters, along with the message “We Stand with You” beneath it. The image further stated that more protests are on the horizon, indicating that Kenyans may seek retribution from the government in a manner similar to how Wanjigi has been treated.
