Residents of Nyanturago village in Nyaribari Chache, Kisii County, are in shock after a horrifying family tragedy that left several people dead and others seriously injured.
A man, identified as Charles James, allegedly killed his wife and two of their children before turning on his own father and another child.
After the brutal attack, he took his own life. The shocking incident is believed to have been triggered by suspicions that his wife was having an affair with his father.
According to neighbors, the family had been living peacefully, and no one suspected any trouble.
However, on the fateful night, screams were heard from their home, prompting neighbors to rush to the scene. Upon arrival, they were met with a gruesome sight.Reactions;
James’ wife and two children lay dead, while his father and another child were found with severe injuries. The suspect was also found lifeless after allegedly ending his own life following the attack.
One of the neighbors, still in shock, described James as a quiet man who never showed signs of aggression. “We never expected something like this from him,” the neighbor said.
Authorities were called to the scene immediately after the attack.
The injured father and child were rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
A medical officer at the hospital confirmed that their condition is critical, but doctors are working hard to save their lives.
Police have launched an investigation to understand the full circumstances leading to the tragedy.
They urged the public to report any signs of domestic conflicts before they escalate into violence.
Local leaders and community members have expressed concern over the rising cases of domestic violence.
One police officer emphasized the importance of seeking help when dealing with personal conflicts.
