Former radio presenter Jalango alias Felix Oduor, has recently revealed why the Government was seriously considering the option of taxing content creators 15% of their total income. According to the Lang’at a MP, the Government would not be considering such an option had it not been for the lavish spending and living styles that we’re being showcased by various content creators online.
For instance, Jalas noted how film director Abel Mutua and former Kiss100 radio presenter Oga Obinna had both gifted themselves vehicles worth more than 5 million shillings in the past month. Obinna bought himself a car worth between 6 to 7 million recently despite the fact that he no longer works at Kiss100 where he earned a bumper salary.
Jalas noted that Eric Omondi may have earned more than 10 million over the past month due to his expensive rate card which Jalas was aware of. Jalas also added Akothee, Crazy Kennar, Butita and Amber Ray.
In Amber Ray’s case, Jalas wondered how the female celebrity could come out to reveal that she spent ksh 300,000 every month and not expect the Government to tax 15% of her earnings and those of other content creators.”How will you convince the Govt that you’re not able to pay 15% tax yet you show out there that you are millionaires.” Jalas quipped.
