The war of words between former cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa who also doubles up as DAP-K party leader and Kiminini Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has escalated.
This follows afresh onslaught launched by the Azimio principal against the outspoken legislator in an exclusive interview today with a Western Kenya based media station ( Sulwe FM ). Wamalwa was responding to a question on why the MP recently condemned him for allegedly not doing anything for the western region during his time in cabinet.
“MPs like Didmus Barasa have alleged that you never did anything for the region during your time as cabinet secretary for various government ministries including the defense docket,” questioned the moderator.
In his response, the former CS mentioned the projects he oversaw in the region but also gave a narration of how he personally helped Didmus Barasa when he was first elected MP as a young, ‘not rich’ MP.
According to Wamalwa, he was forced to help Didmus when he first came to Nairobi as an MP in many ways.
“When he came in Nairobi he had no house. I stepped in to help and welcomed him to my home where he stayed as he arranged plans to get his own,” said the MP.
“If he can admit the truth, you should ask him if he bought his first car without my help,” added Wamalwa.
He however expressed his disappointment in the MP stating that he decided to abandon him and join camp Ruto after getting rich. “When he became stable, he left the house and joined president William Ruto in Karen,” said Wamalwa.
