Ali Kiba is launching his latest album, “Only One King” this weekend. As such the singer hosted a presser where he spoke to local reporters.
One of the questions he was asked was why he still hadn’t done a song with Diamond Platnumz? He said, “I have not approached him cause he isn’t the target. Sikuwa na target kufanya kazi naye.”
The singer also spoke of the difficulty he had assembling the album saying,
“Time. Each and every artiste was on their own schedule, people have shows…abroad. So I had to wait for them. It wasn’t just Sauti Sol. Even Nyashinski was busy. It was many other artistes. Even corona was a problem for me. Someone cannot enter another country unless they have been tested. It was a bother but life must still go on.”
Does the singer charge for collabos?
“I don’t charge for collabos. I just look at great music. I have to look at quality. Also, there are some artistes who showed me respect when I approached them asking them to do a collaboration with me and they were more than happy to do so.”
Why is he launching his album here? “Kenya is my second home.”
