A mysterious disease has invaded various schools in Kenya according to the report by Kenyans.co.ke.According to the report, various schools in Western Kenya specifically in Busia county have fall victims of the attack by the disease which has been identified as Red Eye disease by health experts.

The Kenya Union Of Post Primary Education Teachers secretary general Mr Moffat Okisai while confirming the situation revealed that the affected students have been quarantines as other released to back home.He added that as at now, more than six Schools have been affected by the situation.

Among the schools that have been affected include Amagoro girls high School, Malabar primary schools, Mundika boys high school among other schools.The head of the institutions among other teachers from the affected schools have challenged the government to intervene by distributing red eye treatment to School dispensaries to ensure that the affected students are attended to promptly and on time.

The disease which is also known as conjunctivitis first broke out in Mombasa county towards the end of 2023 with visible effects being red coloured eyes.The experts have revealed that the red eye effect is caused by the inflammation of the transparent membrane in the eyeball.
