Sudan, Niger, Gabon, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea are among the countries barred from running for the position of African Union Commission Chairperson, according to the African Union (AU).
The African Union (AU) has indicated that the decision to prohibit the aforementioned countries from fielding candidates was made as a result of the sanctions placed on them.
Furthermore, the African Union has stated that the commissioners in charge of overseeing the African Union Commission Chairperson elections will be picked from Africa’s vast southern region, Central Africa, and West Africa.
