During a rally led by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in Marikiti, Nairobi, Embakasi North MP James Gakuya made a fiery declaration, accusing unnamed individuals of undermining the unity of the Mt Kenya region.

Speaking passionately, Gakuya shouted, “Adui ya Murima!” at the top of his voice, asserting that anyone attacking the Deputy President and creating political factions is an enemy of the Mt Kenya community.

Gakuya further alleged that Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki was using looted funds to influence political leaders in the region. He claimed that Kindiki had been busy buying the support of Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) to back his ambition of becoming the Mt Kenya Kingpin, rather than focusing on delivering key government projects.

The MP highlighted that essential services such as the issuance of IDs and passports were being neglected as a result of these political manoeuvres. Gakuya’s accusations stirred the crowd, reflecting growing tensions within the region as leaders jostle for influence.

This rally comes amid ongoing debates on the leadership of Mt Kenya, with various politicians positioning themselves to take over the mantle from the current leadership.
