Well-wishers donated over Sh9 million, but Ndungu Nyoro, was accused by Gladys of withholding the cash
The saga surrounding the millions donated by well-wishers to Gladys Kamande might be coming to a close after the funds drive mobilizer, Ndungu Nyoro, stated that he would release all the cash to her personal account.
Speaking at a local FM station, Nyoro said that the controversy surrounding the funds drive had dragged on for too long.

He lamented that he had been on the receiving end for demanding accountability on the usage of the funds Kenyans donated.
“I will leave it to her to have full control of the money. We have agreed that when she is ready we will meet at the bank and transfer the money to her personal account.
Kenyans know I really tried to protect the money they had donated to this case but since some of them also criticised my demanding for accountability, I do not expect them to fault me for anything,” said Nyoro.

According to Nyoro, Gladys was demanding money to acquire land worth Sh1.5 million and other non-health related demands. Being the signatory to the funds, he was reluctant to release the money without proper documentation.
Nyoro had in 2016 reportedly managed to raise Sh9.5 million for the surgery after Kamande’s plight went viral following a tearful encounter with a street boy along Thika Road.
She was heavily dependent on oxygen machines to breath leading to Kenyans contributing generously to facilitate her treatment.

Controversy however reared its head over claims and counter claims that Nyoro had refused to release the remaining funds to her.
Gladys on the other hand has been updating Kenyans on her health progress and even went ahead to release a gospel song.
