A viral video has captured Raila’s diehard supporter, Nuru Okanga, seemingly pressuring nominated senator Karen Nyamu into an embrace at the Kenya International Conference Centre. The incident occurred when Okanga approached Nyamu to present her with a ring he had bought for her, claiming he had been trying to find her for a long time.
In the TikTok clip, Okanga was heard telling Nyamu, âGive me a hug,â while placing his hand on her waist and embracing her.
âI have been searching for you for a long time,â he added. Nyamu, visibly hesitant, questioned his actions, asking, âWhy do I hug you? Are we acquainted? Are you forcing a hug on me?â
Despite her resistance, Nuru Okanga went on to compliment Nyamuâs appearance, produced a ring, and placed it on her finger. He declared, âI have looked for her, and I have booked you.
If anyone touches Karen NyamuâŚâ However, the situation escalated when Okanga attempted another hug, prompting Nyamu to call for security. Upon hearing this, Okanga fled the scene. Before leaving, Nyamu asked Okanga to take back his ring. She then pulled out wads of cash and handed it to him and his camera operator.
This incident comes a day after Nyamu addressed rumors of her being in financial trouble during an interview with K24 TV.
Nyamu dismissed the claims, stating that certain individuals were trying to tarnish her reputation through media manipulation.
She acknowledged public concern and offers of financial support but reassured her followers that she was not facing financial distress.
