Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has let Kenyans have their say after a video of him partying at a club in South Africa surfaced online.

In the video, Salasya, along with other partygoers, can be seen enjoying loud music while singing along.

The young deputy chief also couldn’t hold back his screams.

“Cape Town is good, but I couldn’t be closer to my country,” he also captioned one of the videos.

“Hapa ni watu wa touch screen pekee yake.

Kama wewe si mtu wa topuch screen, you cannot be accepted in this club,” he said in a separate video.

The videos have, however, elicited reactions from Kenyans, with some demanding that he behave like an honorable member of parliament.

“We ukienda terms mbili utaanza kupost ukiwa uchi, hii moja imekutosha,” a Facebook user said.

“Behave like an MP,” read another comment as another user said, “Boss, don’t post when drunk; you are so incoherent.

“Salasya was in South Africa a week ago, although the purpose of his visit is not clear.

During his stay in the country, he maintained that Kenya was the best place to live.

“Yes, it was developed in South Africa, but life is very expensive.

Kiatu kaa yangu hii in Kenya costs Sh5,000; here in Cape Town, it is R900, which is equivalent to Sh9,000,” said the controversial lawmaker.

He also noted that Kenya’s unique problem is high fuel costs, which have pushed people to seek greener pastures abroad.

“Shida ya Kenya sahizi ni mafuta tu pekee, if we can lower fuel prices in Kenya, I can tell you for free that you will never want to leave Kenya.

I’ve been to Ghana, Morocco, Tanzania, South Sudan, and now South Africa.

If he lets us love our Kenya, it will be the most wonderful thing,” Salasya added.
